Bristlecone pines in Wikipedia

The longes living trees

Bristlecone pines are the oldest leaving creatures on Earth.
It's hardly to beleive, but they live up to 5,000 years. Then a couple
of thousand years remain standing, and then a couple of thousands remain laying
All this depends on the soil and climate (see Wiki). Schulman Grove, which
we have visited, is located at the elevation more than 10,000 ft in White
mountains. Driving there one can enjoy the stunning views of Sierra
Nevada over the Owen's Valley.
