Monterey

Half way (100 miles) from Paso Robles to San Francisco there is Monterey Penninsula
with the city of the same name. Mild climate, a lot of wildlife at the coast, one
of the best aquariums. As usual at coast cities there is the Fishermen's Wharf
with small restaurants and souvenir shops, clam chowder. By the way, the city
was the capital of California since 1777 to 1849 under the Spain and Mexican Flags.
