El Paso de Robles (Paso Robles)
Paso Robles is a small (Pop. about 30,000) resort city laceted in wine country within 40 min. from Pacific.
It is surrounded with vyneyards and gardens (mostly almonds and other nuts). We live here since August, 2003.
It is located just behind the ridge which separates California valley (desert) from the Pacific coast.
The ocean here is quite cold (around 57 F) all over the year, so no words about swimming.
Our arrival was marked with the strong (6.5) earthquake on Dec. 22, 2003, which destroyed
several buildings and killed two people underneath the ruins of the Clock-towes buildind,
which served as the city symbol. In 2004 there was a series of quakes with magnitude 5 to 6 .
The city is known as the place of the 10 days long California Mid-State Fair - "The Biggest Little Fair Anywhere"
